In 1982, Mr Michel and Gilbert Bonja founded Bonja Shipping Co Ltd to render Agency Services to vessel owners from all over the world at Mersin Port. Mersin was the most important commercial hub in Eastern Mediterrenean area in 1980's and Bonja Shipping played a key-role in sea transportation, doing chartering and brokering for agricultural products. In late 80's and early 90's, Turkey's outward-oriented growth allowed us to expand our activities to steel and minerals transportation. The symbiosis between Turkey's foreign trade volume and national shipping societies resulted in historical success in ou country's export volume. Chartering
The gradual growth in regional and world economies equally require well-furnished companies to support this development. Having good and long-term relations with many ship operators and shipowners, and through our well-furnished and highly experienced staff, we at Bonja understand our important role in enabling this development. Our agency department is fully equipped and at the service of Vessel Owners 24/7 and able to assist with agency services across the world. For Turkey specifically, we can easily provide D/A at any Turkish port including passages through Turkish Straits, the Dardanelles and the Boshporus.
